Hockey season creeps ever closer.
With the start of September, we are getting closer and closer to the NHL season being back in full swing. The Colorado Avalanche play pre-season hockey starting this month against the Dallas Stars on September 23. Before that, however, we have the rookie tournament and training camp to look forward to, as Colorado announced both of those schedules today.

As the graphic above outlines, training camp for the Avs this year will be from September 19 to September 22. One group of skaters will go from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, and another group will go from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on all of those days, with the exception of September 21, as the morning group on that day goes from 8:45 AM – 10:30 AM. All of those training camp practices will be held at the South Suburban Family Sports Center and will be open to the public to attend.
In addition to the training camp schedule, Colorado also announced the schedule for this year’s rookie tournament. The rookies will practice in Denver on September 12 before heading off to Los Angeles to compete in the 2024 NHL Rookie Faceoff tournament from September 13 to September 16. Rosters for the rookie tournament and training camp will be announced later, but with these schedules, we are one step closer to hockey season, folks!
