The dominoes of a Landeskog return continue to topple!
Well, good morning, Colorado Avalanche fans. I have some good news to add to the jubilation from last night’s OT victory! The Colorado Avalanche Captain seems right on track for a return in the playoffs as he’s been loaned to the Colorado Eagles on a conditioning stint in the final week of the regular season. This news is unsurprising as we’ve seen Landy in Eagles garb with the team on the road.

This feels like a brilliant move by the Colorado Avalanche, as there’s no other way to tell just how effective and healthy Landeskog is until he is a part of some actual competition. That said, you don’t just want to throw him to the wolves right off the rip and have his first real competition be in the playoffs. That said, AHL hockey does not play the same as the NHL.
The game won’t be as fast, but it will be just about as close as it gets to NHL action. Secondly, AHL is a rough and rugged league, so expect Landeskog’s capacity for physicality to be tested early and often in this stint. Let’s see how he is deployed in the coming games.
Predicting Landeskog’s return.

The Colorado Eagles’ next contest will be Friday, April 11th, at 7:05 p.m. MT in Loveland, CO. I’d be willing to wager that this will be the most anticipated, watched, and covered Eagles game in the history of their affinity with the Colorado Avalanche. Game on, Gabe!
