Jared Bednar told Altitude Sport Radio that Gabe Landeskog’s return is likely tonight.
Good morning, Avalanche fans, guess what? For the first time in over 3 years, the Colorado Avalanche will have their captain, Gabe Landeskog, on the ice with them. Game three will feature the return of one of this state’s best sports figures and will encapsulate the journey that has been Landeskog’s rehabilitation.

The Avalanche could certainly use a boost after dropping game two in OT, and what could offer as big a boost as this return? I have been waiting for this day for quite some time, as I’m sure you all have. We still don’t know how Landy will be deployed, so it’s best to temper our expectations. However, it’s the playoffs, so win the game!
The best #MileHighMinute ever as Gabe Landeskog is likely to return to the ice tonight! Chills! #BuiltDifferent | @MileHighHockey | @MHH_LAB | #GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/3sHHaGpNPf

Jared Bednar also told Brett Kane, Marc Moser, and Vic Lombardi of Altitude SR’s morning show that he will be shuffling the lines a bit tonight. Hopefully, that can spur some success from the second line! Either way, I’d expect Landy to play with the third line, but end up with fourth-line minutes. He and Kiviranta will be pretty interchangeable as the series wears on! You best believe #92 will be out for Landeskog’s faceoff and anthem, though. I get goose bumps just thinking about it.
Expectations for Gabe Landeskog from Jared Bednar on @AltitudeSR:
“We have to watch and see. Nobody really knows. I like what I’m seeing in practice I like what I’m seeing in preparation.”#GoAvsGo
