Altitude+ will have the game, but if you live in Denver and don’t subscribe, you’ll need to go old school for KTVD games.
Last night, many Denver Nuggets fans who pay for DirecTV STREAM or Fubo were met with an unwelcome surprise. Despite being told by Altitude and KSE for years to switch from Xfinity to Fubo or DirecTV STREAM to watch all Colorado Avalanche and Nuggets games, subscribers of the two services in the Denver market only saw another blackout message on their screen Tuesday night.
Hi, Adrian. Due to broadcasting restrictions, some events could be blacked out. You can catch up on the Denver Nuggets by subscribing to the Altitude+ streaming app. DIRECTV appreciates your understanding. ^KennethA

Antenna Time
It’s frustrating for Avs and Nuggets fans, but the latest workaround has been announced. If you are in the Denver market and aren’t interested in the Altitude+ app but want to watch your Avs, head to your local electronics store and purchase an old-school TV antenna. That will allow you to watch the game “free over the air” via KTVD.
EDITORS NOTE: KTVD is carried in the Denver market via DirecTV’s satellite and cable TV services but not through DirecTV STREAM or Fubo (for now).
We know that KTVD will be available on Fubo soon but, we have no info on DirecTV STREAM adding KTVD at this time.
Watch this story if you’re buying an antenna to get KTVD to watch Nuggets and Avs games in the future. It has tips on what to buy and how to set it up.
Also know…. KTVD is available on most cable/satellite providers and is coming to FuboTV very soon. https://t.co/5v7dn9oP31

This creates another hurdle for fans to climb to watch their favorite teams, all from what was presented as a solution. Still, this has to be the most accessible workaround they have offered, and the move should make the broadcasts more accessible, generally speaking.
Fubo doesn’t have Tegna Channel 20, but they are expected to launch KTVD in the coming weeks. As for DirecTV stream, they do not have the channel.

Altitude+ Warning
I was going to save this for another article. Still, I feel it’s pertinent to ensure all Avalanche (and Nugget) fans are in the know before reopening their pocketbooks. There have been mixed reactions to the Altitude+ app, with many negative reviews sprinkled in. One of these issues is that not all customers can cast or airplay the Altitude+ app onto their televisions. It’s not a website but an app, so fans without casting capabilities will pay $20 monthly to watch strictly on their phones. Oh, and the app on AppleTV doesn’t even allow you to go full screen yet. Yikes.
The app is a gateway to Altitude’s live and typical programming and has no feature cataloging old games. You can’t rewatch a game unless it’s being re-aired on Altitude—there are no DVR capabilities. You also can’t rewind the game on Altitude+, so if you missed the first period, you are out of luck.
If you were hoping for and expecting an all-encompassing and accessible platform with hours and hours of Avalanche content, I’m sorry, but that’s not what Altitude+ is. I’m sure they are working out the kinks, but if you don’t want to weather that storm, wait a bit to fork it over. Right now, the app has a 3.1-star rating. Here are some of the reviews:
If these new blackouts are potentially inspiring your next Avalanche related purchase (Altitude+), ye be warned.#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/wL7jzntvsf

My advice is to do you and not let anyone pressure you into purchasing an inferior product. Wait out the kinks and hope Altitude+ becomes the option we all want. In the comments, let us know how you plan to watch the game!
