Nathan MacKinnon is the happiest man in the world with his buddy re-signed.
Johnathan Drouin is back baby!
According to reports, Drouin has signed another one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche with an AAV of $2.25 million. It will be his second straight year in the Mile High City, and it looks like a team-friendly deal with another additional year.

Drouin is off the back of a 56-point season, with 19 goals and 37 assists in 79 games. In addition, in the postseason, he tacked on three assists in the three games he played in. He took some time to adapt and get himself situated, but this year, he can start hot and on the right foot.
Jonathan Drouin, signed 1x$2.5M by COL, is a middle six playmaking winger. Had to round out his game to make it work last season, becoming a bit more of a shooting threat and much more hard-working defensively. #GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/DJp8tNAySb

Nathan MacKinnon might be the happiest man on the planet to be reunited with what he called “the best teammate he’s ever played with.” The former Halifax Mooseheads will again combine on the first line, where Drouin helped MacKinnon take home the Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award.
Some other tidbits from MacKinnon’s presser, which is uploading.
On Drouin: “Definitely my favorite teammate I’ve ever had.” Hopes contract can get done, but understands it’s a business.
Rantanen is the “perfect linemate.”
Makar got his Lindsay vote. “I put thought into it.”
