Three Avalanche players were amoung those who were first announced for each of the Four Nations Face-Off rosters.
Ahead of the first round of the NHL Draft tonight, the NHL announced the first bit of each nation’s roster for the upcoming Four Nations Face-Off in February. Six players were named to each of the rosters for the aformentioned four nations, those of course being the US, Canada, Finland, and Sweden.
In that announcement, three Colorado Avalanche players were amoung those first announced to play on their respective rosters. Mikko Rantanen was one of the first six players that were announced with the first players for Finland, and both Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar were announced with the first players for Canada as well.

The remainder of each roster will be announced at a later date, so there’s potential for more Avs players, like Devon Toews and Artturi Lehkonen for example, that could possibly be named to the full rosters for their respective countries. So far, however, all of the rosters look pretty promising all things considered.

While this won’t be truly best-on-best hockey with the omission of players like Leon Draisaitl and David Pastrňák, this event certainly looks to be a potentially really entertaining tournament with the players that have been named to each roster so far.
