Fans also say that Jamie Benn will somehow get more unlikeable.
It’s another installment of Mile High Pollster! Adrian Hernandez took to X this week to get the Colorado Avalanche fan perspective, and some interesting results have come back this time regarding the first-round matchup with the Dallas Stars! Let’s take a look!
Makar4Norris
I had a few polls go out last week that I want to address before diving straight into the playoff madness. Namely, this one here where I asked how Avs fans thought the Norris voting would go down for Cale Makar. 65% of fans believe Makar will win the Norris by a landslide. I’d consider that snagging at least 9 of every 10 votes. We shall see!
Okay I know y’all want Makar to win the Norris, but how do you see it happening? #GoAvsGo | @MileHighHockey | @MHH_LAB

‘Baby Come Back’
The Colorado AvaEagles roster we saw in the season closer depicts some guys being on the mend. The good news is that the person most fans were concerned about returning ahead of playoffs has already done so. The Marty Party is in full effect in the 2025 playoff. Oh, and in case you didn’t hear, some guy named Gabe Landeskog is back.

Where’s Landy? I believe he’s the key honestly.

Gabe Landeksog’s return to the Colorado Avalanche ahead of a much-anticipated series against a heated division rival is paramount and highly impactful. He scored his first goal in over 1,000 days this past Saturday with the Eagles and looks poised to return in round one.
Can you fill what’s already full?
It’s about to be one of those excruciating series, with highs, lows, and passion-invoking happenstances. I’m already very used to not being too fond of Jamie Benn, and I know I’m not alone. So, it’s almost hard to believe fans will like him less than they already do.

However, as it sits right now, Jamie Benn is firmly in the lead, with former Avs Mikko Rantanen and Matt Duchene still taking up 50% of the vote together. Storylines abound with this round one show down and plenty of infamous faces.

Who will the Avs fans have more disdain for after this playoff series?

ChuChu Train
Let’s put the shoe on the other foot for a second. Imagine you are a Stars fan (I don’t like that), and you somehow enjoy wearing that putrid green color just for a second. Who do you think they will adopt a bit of sports hate toward? Val is in the lead right now with roughly a third of the vote!

Who will Dallas fans have more disdain for after this playoff series?
— Adrian Hernandez (@AdoHernandez27) April 14, 2025
I suppose that makes sense, but some fans did mention that Texas hockey fans will likely wear on the Landeskog story and that Landy isn’t afraid to stick up for his teammates. With that, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets under the skin of some of Dallas’s fans.
Avs in…
Last but not least, the question on the top of every fan’s mind is: How will this Dallas vs. Colorado series end? I gave the option of Avs or Dallas in five games or less and then Avs or Dallas in six games or more. It appears most fans anticipate this one going at least six games, and although my following is likely 99% Avalanche fans, the vote says Avs in 6 or more with a small smattering of Dallas in 6 and Avs in 5 or less. My vote? You’ll have to read the upcoming roundtable for that!

Without miro, avs in 5. The speed will just be too much.
