Not the Mikko Rantanen extension just yet.
It has been a very quiet offseason for the Colorado Avalanche thus far with respect to their reserve list and filling out their organizational depth for the 2024-25 season. They have finally made one new addition, however, with the signing of Jere Innala there will be a new face at training camp. The Finnish forward was a participant at the recently concluded World Championship and will begin his first season in North America this fall on a one-year Entry Level Contract.

The former Arizona Coyotes will be officially known as the Utah Hockey Club for the 2024-25 season as they are still going through the process to determine a permanent nickname. The colors of black, white and “mountain blue” are sticking around, though. This still looks an awful lot like Yeti to me, which is probably where the vote will end up anyway.
Utah Hockey Club is official for Year 1.
Smith Entertainment Group closed on the deal that officially makes Utah an NHL franchise. Team name to be revealed at a later date as part of fan vote, and Utah HC is an option.
