As expected, Nathan MacKinnon was named one of the three finalists for the Hart Trophy. The results of the vote won’t be revealed until June 27th but there’s a great chance the Colorado Avalanche superstar forward will take home his first MVP honors.

Yesterday was also the NHL Entry Draft lottery where for the first time sine 2010 the draft order remained unchanged from the 2023-24 final regular season standings. The San Jose Sharks won the lottery and retained the first overall pick, which will likely be used on Boston University forward Macklin Celebrini. The Chicago Blackhawks won the subsequent draw and retained the second selection.
The NHL also finally officially announced the 2024 NHL Draft will be held at The Sphere in Las Vegas on June 28th and 29th. It will be the first televised event from this impressive new structure.
