The preseason continues with a familiar foe.
As the preseason is now officially underway, the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars are about to faceoff once again for the second time in less than a week. This will be the second of two matchups against Dallas, with the Stars taking the first game.
Colorado Avalanche
Last time out, Colorado ultimately fell to the Stars by a final score of 3-2 on a buzzer-beater. Outside of that crazy ending, this game arguably was about what you’d expect from a preseason game. A lot of new players and players who are pushing to make the roster got looks and time on the ice. Matthew Phillips and Jayson Megna ended up being the two goal scorers for Colorado in the game. Megna’s goal came on a phenomenal pass from Cal Ritchie too.
Projected lineup
I won’t pretend to know the lineup like the last preview we wrote on here. Since it’s preseason though, it probably isn’t at all a leap to say that we’ll likely see a lot of younger players once again for both teams. It was rumored to likely be Group 1 from practice yesterday, but we shall see.

Dallas Stars
Dallas ended up sneaking out of Denver with a win on a last-second goal from Lian Bichsel. Their game looked pretty similar to Colorado’s, with a lot of younger players and players pushing to make the full-time NHL roster getting a lot of looks and time on the ice.
Wyatt Johnston continued his habit of scoring against the Avs as he was one of the goalscorers for Dallas that night, along with Arttu Hyry being the second goalscorer of the night. The Stars will be going with a much stronger lineup than what we saw Monday night in Denver, looking to win yet again over their division rival.

Goaltenders
The Stars will see Jake Oettinger and Ben Kraws likely split some time in the crease, and the same might be said about Alexandar Georgiev and Kevin Mandolese for the Avalanche.
