Colorado Avalanche
As previously mentioned, after completing a four-game homestand, Colorado heads out on a four-game road trip and makes their first stop in Philadelipha. Colorado won three out of the four games on this most recent homestand, losing their only game in that homestand against the Washington Capitals. In that game, Colorado got back some much-needed reinforcements as Miles Wood, Jonathan Drouin, and Valeri Nichushkin all made their returns to the lineup.
On a more negative note, however, Alexandar Georgiev did not play in that game and was placed on IR yesterday, as he’s now injured. The Avs recalled Kevin Mandolese to back up Justus Annunen tonight, as he most likely gets the start once again.

Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers come into this game having won three out of their four last games as well and are celebrating something special tonight as well. Former Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson played his 1000th NHL game on Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres, but his official celebration will be tonight against the Avalanche.
Erik Johnson told reporters in Philadelphia that his 1,000th game ceremony will happen Monday against the #Avs.

Goaltenders
As previously touched on, with Georgiev being placed on IR yesterday, Annunen will very likely get the start again here tonight. Across from him, Aleksei Kolosov will get the start for Philadelphia. After getting pulled in favor of Trent Miner against Washington on Friday, Annunen will need a much better performance tonight to help propel Colorado to a win.
