The Avalanche hope to continue their winning streak against number one Los Angeles Kings.
After the Colorado Avalanche had a dramatic 3–2 overtime win over the Nashville Predators on Monday night, they look to take on the Los Angeles Kings. This will be the first three meetings between the old rivals, two in Denver, and one in LA. The Kings have been on a decent run, going 6–3–1 in their last 10 games. They hold the top spot in the Pacific Division.

Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche are coming off of a dramatic overtime win from Samuel Girard as he scored his first of the year. Nathan MacKinnon became the first player in the NHL to reach the 30-point mark for the season. He has been averaging 1.88 points per game and looks to continue that tonight against the Kings.
Colorado hopes to build on the last two wins against the Predator and Carolina Hurricanes. So far this season the Avalanche are 4–1–0 against Pacific Division teams.
Projected Lineup
Artturi Lehkonen – Nathan MacKinnon – Mikko Rantanen
Joel Kiviranta – Casey Mittelstadt – Logan O’Connor
Ivan Ivan – Parker Kelly – Nikolai Kovalenko
Nikita Prishchepov – TJ Tynan – Chris Wagner
Devon Toews – Cale Makar
Samuel Girard – Josh Manson
Calvin de Haan – Sam Malinski
Los Angeles Kings
LA lost its last game 3-1 against the Calgary Flames on Monday night. The Avalanche will need to look out for former DU Pioneer Trevor Moore. He is riding a career-high six-game point streak in which he has seven points. It would not be much of a surprise to see our friend Darcy Kuemper in net for the Kings, either.
He has a 2.23 goals-against-average in 10 career starts against his former team. This could be a battle of attrition with the Avalanche on a two-game win streak and the Kings having won two of their last three games at Ball Arena.
Projected Lineup
Trevor Lewis- Anze Kopitar – Adrian Kempe
Trevor Moore- Phillip Denault- Kevin Fiala
Warren Foegele- Quinton Byfield- Alex Laferriere
Andre Lee- Samuel Helenius- Akil Thomas
Michael Anderson- Vladislav Gavrikov
Joel Edmundson- Brandt Clarke
Andreas Englund- Jordan Spence
Goaltenders
The Avs will be going with Alexandar Georgiev once again, while the Kings will likely go with the aforementioned Kuemper.
