Here’s some of the best players for the Broncos to target on the final day of the draft
Day two of the 2025 NFL Draft was all about making the Denver offense more potent and giving franchise quarterback Bo Nix some weapons to play with. They took RB RJ Harvey and WR Pay Bryant. Two guys that likely weren’t at the top of most people’s leaderboards, but they are absolutely Sean Payton guys that fit very well into this offense.
And then when you thought they were done they traded back up into the third to snag Sai’vion Jones, a big body DE that can help sure up the edge of this defensive line. He fits the picks the Broncos have been making so far. Nothing flashy, but all good pieces to add to this team. Payton and Paton definitely have a strong idea of guys that fit best on their team.
Now let’s take a look to the last day of the draft. There’s still a few needs the Broncos need to address. There also exists some opportunities for them to make almost luxury-type picks if the board falls their way.
Remaining picks:
- Fourth round, pick 32 (134)
- Sixth round, pick 21 (197)
Defensive tackle
Joshua Farmer – A 3-tech with tons of potential but with some raw talent that needs to be developed before he can be a true stud. Could make for a great penetrator in the run defense.
.@FSUFootball @JoshuaFarm32351 this Joshua Farmer is right in the MIX of a strong group of DT’s. Maybe as strong as we have seen in a long time. He “Stacks & Sheds” as well as anyone. #nfldraft #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/uOkzQItsLS

JJ Pegues – A powerful and athletic interior defender. He has a great get-off and is explosive at the snap of the ball. He can be trusted to maintain gap integrity and thrives in any short yardage/ goal-line situations.
Will be a fan wherever JJ Pegues goes. One of my favorite CFB players last year pic.twitter.com/0PMVm7WqeT

Tight end
Gunnar Helm – A pass catcher that excels in contested passes and is consistently able to box out defenders and make tough snags. Has good vision for finding the open gaps in a defense. Makes for a reliable safety net in the middle of the field.
The guy I’m watching today test at tight end – one of my draft man crushes, Gunnar Helm.
Complete tight end who offers good playmaking ability after the catch, can play in line, through contact and is a smooth, fluid athlete.
Big fan of him as an option for

Mitchell Evans – Given how often Sean Payton uses his tight ends in the run game, Evans would make for a great acquisition. His blocking was key on that Notre Dame offense. And while he isn’t suited to be a playmaking receiver, he’s reliable and consistent and shows up in flashes.
You’re not allowed to dislike Mitchell Evans, I won’t let you pic.twitter.com/KI5Pxz5xKg

Offensive line
Jackson Slater – I’ve spoken a bunch on why I love him already, but Slater is a baller that comes to knock your teeth in. He’s physical at the point of attack, carries his feet and hands well, and he can play center.
Sacramento State LG Jackson Slater absolutely nukes this 5t on the assist!
Slater’s pass pro has been impressive so far 2 games through. His willingness to find work has been a highlight. pic.twitter.com/4XBnb29xhN— Thomas Martinez (@BoltsDraftTalk) March 29, 2025
Hollin Pierce – Here’s another guy I have spoken on and am a big fan of. There is no doubt that he is a raw athlete and could heavily benefit from a year under Zach Strief, but he can serve as a back up and could be just fine if called upon. He’s a huge tackle that imposes his will in the run game.
Hollin Pierce is 6’8, 341lbs with 37” arms…
Utterly insane that he moves this well at that size. Started 50 games of OT at Rutgers after joining the program as a walk-on.
I have a 3rd round grade on him pic.twitter.com/hDRVPtMtkl
