Four Denver Broncos players have been named to the All-NFL and All-AFC teams announced by the Pro Football Writers of America on Monday.
All four players played a significant role in the Broncos’ first playoff appearance since 2015. Cornerback Pat Surtain, edge dfender Nik Bonitto, wide receiver Marvin Mims (special teams returner) and guard Quinn Meinerz were all named All-NFL and All-AFC. The four Broncos represented a league-high in nominations.
For Meinerz, Mims and Bonitto, this is their first selections for this honor. This season marks Surtain’s second selection to the All-NFL squad (2022, 2024).
Surtain and Bonitto are also both serious candidates for 2024’s Defensive Player of the Year, with Surtain gaining nationwide attention for his shutdown year (he is currently the favorite to win the award). Bonitto had a career year, and is seeking to ink a long-term deal before his contract expires after the 2025 season.
Mims made his own splash by catching four touchdowns in the Broncos’ final two regular-season games and being voted to the Pro Bowl for the second straight year as a return specialist.
Meinerz signed a four-year, $80 million contract in August of 2024, with the goal of anchoring the interior of the Broncos’ offensive line for the foreseeable future.
The Broncos’ youth movement looks forward to getting even more talented as the team looks toward the 2025 NFL draft in April.
