For the first time in franchise history, the Denver Broncos have a rookie quarterback earning the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award.
Bo Nix.
That’s your franchise quarterback. His play as a rookie for the Denver Broncos has only gotten better as the season has progressed and now he has earned the first ever AFC Offensive Player of the Week award by any rookie quarterback in franchise history.
The first rookie QB in franchise history to earn this honor.

During the Broncos 38-6 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Nix completed 84.8% of his passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns. His 145.0 passer rating is also the second-highest rating in franchise history. In short, Nix was about as perfect as a quarterback could be on Sunday.
To hammer home the point of where Nix started to where he is today, here was his stat line in his first four games compared to his last four games.
- First 4: 83/138 60.2% for 660 yards with 0 touchdown passes and four interceptions.
- Last 4: 97/133 72.9% for 1,029 yards with 9 touchdown passes and one interception.
The progression of Bo Nix has been nothing short of phenomenal. While the Broncos are just 2-2 in their last four games, one of those defeats was a last-second blocked game-winner in a game where Nix outplayed Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.
The future is bright in Denver and Bo Nix is the reason. Here’s to hoping he keeps building this momentum towards the playoffs.
Keep it rolling, #Broncos https://t.co/OIgb2NiRAD
