The rookie quarterback has earned himself another accolade for his impressive performance against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11.
Earlier today, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix earned himself AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his dominating performance against the Atlanta Falcons. That was a first in the franchise’s storied history.
But that wasn’t the only honor he would earn. For his efforts against the Falcons, Nix also was named FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week. Make those two accolades for the rookie who looked the best he had all season this past Sunday.
After going 28-of-33 for 307 yards and throwing 4 touchdown passes, the future has never looked brighter for the former Auburn turned Oregon and now Broncos’ signal caller. His ability to distribute the ball to all three levels and to a myriad of teammates has been extraordinarily impressive. Moreover, his body of work over the past several games has earned him legitimate contender status for the highly coveted Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Nix started the season off slow but has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the NFL since Week 5. Amongst all quarterbacks, he ranks in the Top 10 with respect to completion percentage, passer rating, and EPA during that timeframe. On top of that, he is fifth in passing yards and touchdowns. He might be a rookie though he certainly isn’t playing like one.
With just six more games left to go, the Broncos will need him to continue to shine in order to earn their first playoff berth since 2015. Nix’s ascension is one of the best storylines in all of football this season. I think it’s safe to say he has outperformed many fan’s expectations for his efforts during his rookie campaign.
If he is able to continue playing at a high level and lead the Broncos to the postseason, he has a very good shot at being Offensive Rookie of the Year. Here’s to hoping he can put together another top-notch effort against the Las Vegas Raiders in their Week 12 on Sunday.
