The Broncos made several roster transactions ahead of their playoff matchup vs. the Bills.
The Denver Broncos announced several transactions 24 hours before their first postseason game since Super Bowl 50. They announced that they have activated running back Tyler Badie off the injured reserve and placed rookie tackle Frank Crum on the Non-Football Injury list, opening up a roster spot for Badie. They also elevated rookie offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo from the practice squad to the active gameday roster for tomorrow’s game.

Badie had a strong summer and pushed for a roster spot but ultimately landed on the Broncos practice squad. With rookie Audric Estime sidelined due to an injury, Badie was given an opportunity early in the year and had his standout performance in week three against the Bucs. He would give some life to a struggling Broncos rushing attack and rush for 70 yards on 9 carries.
This performance had people, myself included, wanting to see more snaps from him moving forward. Unfortunately, just a week later, Badie would suffer a scary back injury that would sideline him for the rest of the regular season. However, the team designated Badie to return on Christmas Eve and he has been practicing with the team since then. He was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Bills and now will have a chance to contribute once again with the team activating him to the 53-man roster.
It remains to be seen if Badie is currently active with Jaleel McLaughlin, Javonte Williams, and rookies Audric Estime and Blake Watson on the roster. So, we’ll have to see where he lands when the team announces their inactive for the game early Sunday morning. I’d lean towards Badie being inactive but we’ll have to wait and see.
To make room for Badie, the Broncos placed undrafted rookie offensive tackle Frank Crum on the Non-Football Injury list. He was already ruled out for the game and has been on the injury report with an illness, so hopefully, all is well with Crum and his health.
With Crum sidelined, the Broncos elevated seventh-round rookie offensive lineman Nick Garguilo from the practice squad to the gameday roster. Like Badie, it remains to be seen if he’ll be active or not and I’d lean towards him being inactive as well.
