Broncos Country travels extremely well in support of their team and could be an advantage today in Las Vegas.
Good morning, Broncos Country!
The Denver Broncos have one of the best fan bases in the NFL.
Despite the Broncos’ struggles for almost a decade, the fans still support the franchise. That’s especially true on the road. Few teams have the road support that Denver gets. We saw it earlier this season in a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Broncos Country took over the stadium and surprised some of the younger players on the roster.
Now that the Broncos seem to be turning the corner back to relevancy with a team fighting for the AFC playoffs, that support will only magnify.
And there’s no greater place to do it than against the Las Vegas Raiders today.
Denver head coach Sean Payton was asked about the advantage the team gets from the fans traveling so well.
“The first time I was exposed to it (was) when I wasn’t coaching,” Payton said to the Denver media on Friday. “I was working with Fox. I was invited to a night game and it was the Chargers vs. the Broncos in a real close game. It might’ve been an overtime game, in fact, 2022. I was with somebody in a suite, and that’s the first time it hit me where I looked around, and I felt like it was 70-30 (percent) Broncos (fans). I saw the silent snap count right away from the home team.
“So we need them. We have a great fan base, and when you’re able to … You’re going to have a few of these weeks where it’s going to be extremely loud. We prepare for every game on the road, but it’s fantastic with the way they travel.”
