The Denver Broncos had a busy Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Here’s everything that happened.
Entering Day 2 with a pick in each of the two rounds, the Denver Broncos appeared to be poised to either trade up or trade down. Some of the most highly touted prospects that fell out of the first round went early and by the time Denver was on the clock it seemed like they were at the head of a range of picks where they had a lot of guys similarly rated.
It was then that began answering the phones. The first trade was an interesting one that involved pick swapping where a total of eight picks changed hands between Denver and the Carolina Panthers. All so the Broncos could trade back just six spots. Then they’d pull the trigger again on another trade that netted an extra fourth round pick from the Detroit Lions to move back another three spots in the second round.
With the 60th pick at the tail end of the second round is where Denver finally made their first pick of the day in UCF running back RJ Harvey. From there, they’d stand pat with the pick they got from the Panthers in the third round to take Illinois wide receiver Pat Bryant. They seemed to be done for the night, then with the second to last pick of the night they traded back into the third round — giving up one of their two fourth round picks and sixth rounder — to select LSU defensive end Sai’vion Jones.
Overall, an impactful evening for the Denver Broncos. Here were some of the notable quotes from each guy last night.
RJ Harvey notable quotes
On his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield
“I feel [like] I can do it all. I can catch the ball out of the backfield, I can run it in space, and I’m ready to just showcase all my skills to [Broncos Country]. I’m excited. [Broncos Country], I’m excited.”
On if he is excited to contribute to the offense
“I’m extremely excited. I’m ready to get to work right away, get in there and put my head down and just showcase all my skills to all of my teammates and my coaches. My main goal is to come in there and do whatever I can to help Denver win, make the playoffs and get to the Super Bowl. I want to be a big part of that, a big reason why we make it that far in the playoffs and the Super Bowl. I’m just super excited for this opportunity.”
On Head Coach Sean Payton’s history of coaching dynamic running backs
“It means everything. He has a great reputation for having great running backs. I’m just excited to get into his system and just do whatever I can to help my team move the ball down the field and score touchdowns.”
Pat Bryant notable quotes
On how he will be utilized in Head Coach Sean Payton’s offense
“They know all my attributes. They know what I can do, they know all my attributes. They know what I could do on the field. So my main focus is to just get to Denver, do my job, and help the team win.”
On what he knows about QB Bo Nix
“I’ve seen a lot of great things. It’s crazy because I was just at the Senior Bowl with [Oregon WR] Tez Johnson, his adopted brother and we were kind of talking about him and his dream of playing with him. So just having an opportunity to play with a great quarterback like Bo Nix, it’ll be very, very special.”
On if he takes pride in contributing to the run game
“My motto was always, ‘You block, you get the rock.’ So my main focus was just using my physicality both in the pass game as well as the run game, just helping my running backs get to the end zone.”
On if he has any goals for his rookie year
“No, I’m just ready to get to Denver, and go to work and help the team win.”
On contributing to the team
“[It is] a very special opportunity. I feel like any team I went to, I would do my job and just get there and do whatever I could, just contribute and help the team win.”
Sai’vion Jones notable quotes
On what it will be like to learn from the Broncos defensive line group
“I feel like it’s just going to be like a repeat of college. When I got into college here, they had a lot of vets ahead of me. I really spent my first year learning and soaking up from the veterans that were ahead of me. So I just have to do the same thing when I get down there, keep my head down, learn as much as I can from the vets and just work my way up.”
On if he has versatility to play along the entire defensive line
“Absolutely. I feel like I have that ability to be able to play all over the place. I felt like that was one of the main things that the Broncos see in me. When you pick me, you’re drafting a couple of players. I’m not just an edge player. I can play a 4-line, a 3-line… I can play across the line. I felt like that’s the reason why they felt like I was a person they should draft.”
On what impression he wants to make as he joins the Broncos
“The main impression I want to leave is just that I’m a guy that came here to work. There’s nothing more, nothing less. I’m going there to make a name for myself. I want to be able to be a respectable player amongst everybody and I just want to be able to earn that starting role.”
On what it means to join a defense that led the NFL in sacks last season
“It’s amazing because not only am I going to get some of the best coaching, I’m also going to get some of the best experience from the D-line group. Like you said, they had the most sacks in the country, and it doesn’t get better than that when it comes to D-line and how things work.”
