In his recent two-round 2025 NFL mock draft for ESPN, Matt Miller has the Denver Broncos filling two major positions of need (subscription required for link).
In the first round, Miller has Denver landing Michigan tight end Colston Loveland at pick No. 20.
“Loveland is one of my favorite players in the entire class; he’d give coach Sean Payton and quarterback Bo Nix another target in the passing game to complement receiver Courtland Sutton,” Miller wrote on ESPN.com.
Miller praised Loveland’s positional flexibility and noted that he has the “grace of a wide receiver” at 6-5 and 245 pounds.
With their second pick in the Miller mock, the Broncos select Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson at pick No. 51. Johnson had a breakout year as a junior last fall, rushing for 1,537 yards and 21 yards with the Hawkeyes.
Miller has Penn State tight end Tyler Warren (No. 14) going off the board before Denver’s pick, but Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty falls past the Broncos to pick No. 22. Warren and Jeanty have been two popular prospects for Denver in mock drafts.
Tight end and running back are among the Broncos’ biggest positions of need this offseason, so Loveland and Johnson would be smart picks.
The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin from April 24-26. Denver holds seven picks, including selections in the first four rounds.
