The 2025 HBCU Legacy Bowl will be played at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans this afternoon.
The college all-star game highlights prospects from historically black colleges and universities ahead of the NFL draft. There are currently seven former attendees of the HBCU Legacy Bowl in the NFL, and two of them have connections to the Denver Broncos.
Two years ago, Lane College pass rusher Andrew Farmer competed at the all-star game and then joined the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent. Farmer later signed with the Broncos’ practice squad last fall, and he received a reserve/future contract at the end of the 2024 season.
The same year that Farmer participated in the HBCU Legacy Bowl, Fort Valley State running back Emanuel Wilson also competed in the all-star game. Wilson later signed with Denver as an undrafted free agent. Wilson did not make the Broncos’ active roster that summer, but he landed on his feet with the Green Bay Packers.
Denver will now look to identify more talent at this year’s game.
