Going into Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Denver Broncos needed to win one of their last three games to clinch a spot in the NFL playoffs.
After a 34-27 loss to the Chargers, Denver now has to win one of its last two games to clinch a spot in the postseason (or get some help from other teams). The sky is not falling just yet.
“We’re upset that we lost, right?” linebacker Cody Barton said after the game. “But we’re not — there’s still two weeks left. The season’s not over. Got a lot — we’ve got some time left and so, like I said, we regroup as a team and we’ve got two weeks of life left. We do what we can do.”

“It’s a tough loss, you know what I mean?” Barton said. “We’ve just got to look at the tape, see where things went wrong and just correct those things.”
Up next is a road game against the Cincinnati Bengals (6-8) in Week 17 followed by a home game against the Kansas City Chiefs (13-1) in Week 18. The path to the playoffs remains the same for the Broncos: win and you’re in.
