The Broncos met with another Oregon Duck at the Combine, this time with running back Jordan James.
The Broncos have added a bunch of Oregon Ducks in recent years. Quarterback Bo Nix, wide receiver Troy Franklin and offensive linemen Alex Forsyth. Now, they have met with a trio of Oregon players at the Combine, including wide receiver Tez Johnson, tight end Terrance Ferguson, and running back Jordan James.
The following teams have met formally with Oregon RB Jordan James, one of the most dynamic playmakers in the class, per sources.
• Commanders
• Bills
• Cowboys
• Broncos
• Jaguars

James is a 5’9”, 205 pound running back who is a physical running back who could improve the Broncos’ running back room. He is a compact runner who uses his low center of gravity to his advantage and runs through defenders in the second and third levels.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein compares Jordan James to Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce and calls James a physical runner with a compact frame and lower center of gravity.
Physical runner with a compact frame and lower center of gravity. James punches way above his weight class when it comes to breaking tackles and doling out punishment, but his ability to suddenly cut and change direction should not be minimized. He plays fast but lacks patience to allow his blocks to develop. Early success on runs over the tackle can eventually lead to collision finishes, where he ducks his eyes instead of seeking to find a cut or move. James lacks finesse, but his ability to get tough yards could create draft value as a RB3 with a chance to develop into a larger role in time.
The Broncos met with multiple backs at the Combine and other prospects have noted the team has admitted they have a need at the position. James would give them a powerful low center of gravity runner who could run in the 4.4’s later today. The Broncos need a lot of help in their running back room and James could be part of the solution for them.
If he tests well, which is expected, he could be a day two option for teams during the draft. It is a loaded draft class so ranking all these backs is difficult and teams will likely have varying grades on them, but the Broncos will have multiple opportunities to add a talented runner in the draft.
