Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix won two weekly awards following his historic performance against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Nix first won AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors before also taking home the FedEx Air Player of the Week award for Week 18 following Denver’s 38-0 thumping of the Chiefs.
Nix threw for a career-high 321 yards, tied a career high with four touchdown passes (with no interceptions), set a franchise record for single-game completion percentage (89.7 percent) and set an NFL record by having multiple performances with over 300 yards passing, four touchdowns, no turnovers and a passer rating over 140.
With the win, Nix became the first Bronco rookie quarterback since John Elway to lead the franchise to the playoffs, and Denver reached the postseason for the first time since 2015.
Nix adds to already-growing his awards collection. Earlier in the season, Nix was nominated for Rookie of the Week several times, won several weekly awards already, and was named AFC Offensive Rookie of the Month in October. He finished the regular season with 29 passing touchdowns, 3,775 yards passing, 12 interceptions, four rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown,
Nix now leads the Broncos against the 2-seed Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
