The Denver Broncos have reportedly re-signed offensive lineman Matt Peart. This is an important move given how horrible it was when they lost Quinn Bailey as their sixth rotational lineman. Peart was able to step in and fill that void rather nicely. The deal is reportedly a two-year, $7 million contract with incentives that could elevate the value to $10 million.

Bailey is also an unrestricted free agent and was a big part of Denver’s plans last offseason before going down with a season-ending injury. It’ll be interesting to see if they feel comfortable rolling with Peart in that role instead. I’d personally love to see Quinn Bailey back, but that was a pretty brutal injury and the Broncos are deciding to move in a different direction. Peart is also three years younger. The Broncos offensive line was one of the best in the NFL last season and that was without Bailey in the lineup.
Peart began his career with the New York Giants as a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He arrived in Denver in free agency on a one-year deal in 2024 and the Broncos liked enough of what they saw to lock him down for another two years.
He played the swing tackle role on offense mostly playing in 5-10 snaps a game, through he did fill in for injury during the Broncos win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6 and their loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7. I think he filled the role that the team originally had planned for Quinn and is younger. Overall, a good get for Denver to keep their offensive line looking strong heading into the 2025 season.
