The Denver Broncos open 8.5-point home favorites vs. the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18 with an over/under at 39.5.

With the Kansas City Chiefs having locked up homefield advantage in the AFC, they will be resting their starters in the final week. That should give the Denver Broncos a huge opportunity to finally win a game to close out the season with their first playoff berth in almost a decade. If they can avoid a complete collapse, anyway…

According to FanDuel, the Broncos are 8.5-point home favorites against the Chiefs in Week 18. The over/under stands at 39.5 for this matchup.

Over/Under: 39.5

The Broncos went from a 91% chance of making the playoffs to a 55% chance this week after dropping back-to-back games against AFC playoff contenders. Their season now comes down to a single game. Win it and they are in. Lose and they need both the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins to lose as well.

Given the fact the Chiefs are resting their starters and will be rolling with Carson Wentz, the Broncos have zero excuse not to show up and win this football game. The problem with young teams is that sometimes they play down to their competition assuming they’ll win easily in a situation like this one. Sean Payton needs to hammer it home that they must come out and play with fire and intensity.

I think they do and I think they barely squeeze into the playoffs. It has been a long time coming and, as a fan, I want this win so bad it hurts. Please make it happen, guys!
