The Denver Broncos are being blown out at home. Now down 23-0 to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Nothing has been able to stop Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers to start this game. Up 20-0 at halftime, they would get the ball to start the second half. The Denver Broncos defense only two stops on third down led to field goals. Other than that, the Chargers have done whatever they have wanted in this game.
Denver’s defense finally made a third down stop outside of field goal range on the Chargers first drive of the second half. That led to the Chargers’ first punt of the game.
Bo Nix and the Broncos offense got some momentum on their first drive thanks almost entirely to Nix and his legs. He was surely sacked by Bud Dupree, but broke that tackle and took off for a 21-yard scramble and a first down. Unfortunately, Javonte Williams dropped a wide open screen pass that would have gained a ton of yards and that would ultimately kill the drive as back-to-back penalties setup a third and 20.

A good punt by Riley Dixon backed the Chargers up to their own nine yard line for their next drive. The Broncos pass rush was getting their on the first two snaps forcing incompletions. On third and 10, Herbert went deep for a 29-yard completion with Riley Moss in coverage.
Two plays later after a near interception by Brandon Jones, the Chargers were faced with another third and long. Needing eight yards, they got a huge play be Herbert for another chain moving completion. There just wasn’t anything the Broncos defense could do on third down to stop the Chargers.
Those third down conversions are back-breakers, but they would finally get a sack from Nik Bonitto who put the Chargers into a third and 16 that they finally stopped. They were in field goal range though and they’d extend their lead with under three minutes to go in the third quarter.
Chargers 23, Broncos 0.
The quarter would end with the Chargers in Broncos territory hoping to add to their lead.
