The Chargers and Cowboys may sign Rams and Broncos over Pro Bowler wide receiver, Amari Cooper this season. Bleacher Report published an article stating that the top two destinations for the five-time Pro Bowl are the Rams and Denver. Cooper is impressing potential trade suitors if he becomes a candidate after having a breakthrough game in week three notching seven catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns. It’s easy to see why the Browns could trade him since he is the lone player having value and may be Cleveland’s last resort to get a lineman in return to restructure their offensive line.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson is already struggling behind the offensive line, especially going down 16 times and Guard Wyatt Teller suffering a knee injury. However, the Broncos have a legitimate roster under Bo Nix’s leadership so they might bring in a third receiver to accommodate Josh Reynolds and Courtland Sutton. Denver is in the same conference as the Chiefs and Chargers so it makes sense why he could fit in a new AFC team. The most-needy receiver-less team that is looking for an upgrade is the Rams.
Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are coming back soon but at least one of their receivers could be out until Week 9. Matthew Stafford excels when he has all of his tools in the bag so Cooper, Kupp and Nacua could give the team a fighting chance against other NFC Heavyweights. Cooper should be able to garner interest from teams and this is why the Chargers and Cowboys are likely candidates to fight for him.

Reunion in Dallas?
If the Cowboys are dreaming of a scenario where they want to win a Super Bowl, they might have to keep sleeping. Dallas has one of the worst collection of wide receivers except for CeeDee Lamb. Dak Prescott isn’t going anywhere after signing his extension but he won’t excel for the next four years if he doesn’t have a consistent receiver on the field. Brandin Cooks is average at best and their third receiver is Jalen Tolbert who hasn’t lasted a full season.
Tolbert is showing some flashes but nothing special where he could be consistent. Jake Ferguson continues to be Prescott’s last resort in the deep threat. However, Cooper stepping in alongside Lamb could give the offense more comfort. The Cowboys will never see Prescott’s full potential if they rely on Lamb and Ferguson moving down the sticks.
More Help for Justin Herbert
The Chargers did minimal work to get a strong receiving room for Justin Herbert. Jim Harbaugh may rely on his running the ball all he wants but to move the sticks quickly, Herbert has to throw those darts. However, Herbert is dealing with a significant and he doesn’t have Mike Williams or Keenan Allen anymore. Ladd McConkey is a nice option to throw in slant routes to get the ball out but he’s just a rookie.
A team may never want to rely on a rookie to produce the entire numbers on offense if they have championship aspirations. However, Cooper’s addition could restore faith in the receiver room and become their number-one go-to target in time for the playoffs.
Other Potential Trade Destinations
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are still tricky to evaluate since no one knows if they’re a legit contender. Baltimore finally got their first win after defeating Dallas in a nail-biting contest after blowing them out in the first three quarters. However, Zay Flowers is probably their best receiver right now while Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor have consistency issues. Perhaps, adding Cooper could put the pedal to the metal for Lamar Jackson to feel comfortable in the pocket.
Cooper could become their No. 2 receiver capable of replicating the same deep routes as Flowers while Bateman and Agholor focus on the slants.
Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City was attempting to improve life for Patrick Mahomes after adding Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown this offseason. However, Brown is out for the season so that leaves Rashee Rice and Worthy in the deep route with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman in the back end. The Chiefs have been average even though they’ve found a way to win in three nail-biting contests. Signing someone like Cooper could give Mahomes one of the best rosters ever in his NFL successful tenure with a three-way receiver package of Worthy, Rice and Cooper.
