You’d have to be a fool to pick against the NFL’s chosen one, but fans dislike the Chiefs so much that there fools-a-plenty this week.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Kansas City Chiefs are slight 1.5-point favorites to take down the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl for the second time in the last three years. For all intents and purposes, the Chiefs seem to destined to secure their third-straight title this weekend.
Fans are thinking the Eagles will pull out the upset and that will help the house secure a healthy return if the NFL’s golden franchise wins on Sunday.

And if the game is close, we can probably expect a questionable spot or timely penalty to keep the Chiefs chances alive long enough. That’s why I wouldn’t put a single dime on the Eagles. The Chiefs would be the safe play here.
I hate to be jaded about it, but the stats don’t lie. In the playoffs, the Chiefs have drawn more 15-yard judgement calls (10) than their opponents have gotten in their favor (1). I would expect that advantage to increase on Super Sunday.
The easier bet might be the over/under prediction. Super Bowls tend to go hard and 48.5 feels like a low number for this game. Their last Super Bowl matchup ended in a 38-35 shootout with, yes, a Chiefs victory.

I would expect another shootout style game with the Chiefs – again – winning with some questionable officiating. The NFL will be happy. Taylor Swift will be happy. The story will be told how they wanted it be told the second Swift stepped into an NFL stadium… with a three-peat.
So Fly Eagles Fly. Against all odds.
