The AFC West has been a bit of a damp squib so far in 2023. The Chiefs have looked a bit out of sorts, but keep winning while the Chargers and Raiders seem to be struggling to find their feet. And the Broncos? Well. the less said about Sean Payton’s disastrous start in Denver the better. Thursday night sees the desperate Broncos travel to Arrowhead for what looks to be a tough assignment in some tricky conditions. But what does that mean for the DraftKings DFS slate?

Thursday Night Football: Week 6DraftKings Bargains
The Obvious DraftKings DFS Play – Chiefs D/ST
As defenses go the Chiefs D/ST are a bit on the steep side at $3,300 on this DraftKings DFS slate. But like all luxury items they’re worth it. In Week 5, the Jets defense scored 18 points against a Broncos offense that allowed four sacks and fumbled four times. And that was a good week for the Broncos offense.
The Rookie Finding His Feet – Rashee Rice
Some say that rookie Rashee Rice is Mahomes’ favorite receiver, and the stats back that up. His 13.2% target share is second only to the future Hall of Fame tight end.
At $4,100 on the DraftKings DFS slate Rice is the third most expensive receiver in this game. He’s $2,000 cheaper than Jerry Jeudy which is bizarre when you consider Jeudy is averaging 9.5 points per game compared to Rice’s 9.2 average.
The DraftKings DFS Boom Or Bust Rookie – Marvin Mims Jr.
The Broncos rookie could be the most exciting receiver in the 2023 draft class, but only if the Broncos use him more. He saw five targets in Week 3 and racked up 16.6 points, the following week he had a monster performance against the Commanders. He caught both passes Wilson threw his way and ran the ball twice, ending the game with 23.3 points.
So, is he a key part of the Broncos clunky offense then? No. In Week 5 he again caught the two targets that came his way, but he only recorded 9 yards, ending the game with just 2.9 yards.
On the plus side, Mims is only valued at $3,800 on the DraftKings DFS Thursday Night slate this week. That makes him cheaper than Skyy Moore and the same value as Kadarius Toney. Moore averages 5.9 points per game this season, Toney 4.5 ppg neither are anywhere near Mims’ 10 ppg average.
An Underused DraftKings DFS Stud – Samaje Perine
Veteran running back Samaje Perine had somewhat of a breakout game for the Broncos last week. Perine had 10 touches in Week 5, his most since Week 1. He played on 60% of the offensive snaps and that was the most he’d managed since Week 13 in December last year. And his 95 yards from scrimmage was his most since he helped the Bengals beat the Chiefs in that Week 13 game. His 73 receiving yards last week is a regular season record for him.
Perine is valued at $4,800 on this DraftKings DFS slate, the same as Jerrick McKinnon. McKinnon is averaging 6 ppg compared to Perine’s 7.9. Perine costs $600 less than his Broncos teammate Javonte Williams and Williams is recovering from an injury and averaging just 7.5 ppg so far this season. Even if the Broncos struggle to get their run game, going Perine is an absolute bargain this week.
The Sensible Option – Noah Gray
Travis Kelce’s social circle might be the most entertaining thing in the NFL, but on the field, he’s been feeling his age. He’s the same age as Gronk and Gronk’s body gave up on him long ago. Kelce fell victim to the turf monster at Bank of America Stadium last week. He rolled his ankle and he’s only recently recovered from the bone bruise on his knee. Kelce will be vital if the Chiefs are going to make a deep playoff run so Andy Reid should be sharing Kelce’s workload out a bit. That’s obviously easier said than done where Kelce is concerned, but only five teams have allowed more DraftKings points to tight ends in 2023 than the Broncos. The Chiefs should be able to keep Kelce’s touchdown streak alive whilst giving Gray plenty of catches too.
Gray hauled in three catches in his last two games, averaging 11.9 yards per catch. And he only costs $3,300 on Thursday Night’s DraftKings DFS slate.
