The Denver Broncos are putting the Atlanta Falcons away in the second half heading into the final quarter up 28-6.
The Atlanta Falcons got the ball to start the second half bringing the Denver Broncos defense out to defend Denver’s lead. On the second play, P.J. Locke had an easy pick-six that he dropped. The Broncos defense still held and forced a three-and-out to start the second half.
Marvin Mims Jr. took the punt return back 37-yards to set Bo Nix and the Broncos offense up on the Falcons side of the field.

A critical drop on third down by Adam Trautman set the Broncos into a fourth and three from the Falcons 38-yard line. Sean Payton opted to go for it. Bo Nix, from the shotgun, found Lil’Jordan Humphrey with a perfect pass where he dropped it. Upon review, the officials overturned the call and called it a catch and fumble that Humphrey recovered.
With the Broncos in business, they handed off to Javonte Williams who rumbled into the red zone for a first down. Two plays later on third and eight, Nix found Devaughn Vele wide open at the sticks to setup a first and goal. The 11-play drive would end on another screen, this time to Troy Franklin, for a touchdown.

Broncos 28. Falcons 6.
On the Falcons next drive, the Broncos defense pinned its ears back ending the effort with a Cody Barton interception of Kirk Cousins to set Denver back up near midfield.

An unnecessary roughness penalty on Garett Bolles killed the Broncos next drive after they had gotten into Falcons territory for just their second punt of the game. They’d get the ball back in short order as the Falcons didn’t do anything with their possession after a Jonah Elliss sack on third down forced a punt.
With the third quarter winding down, Bo Nix ignited another offensive drive with a jump ball to Courtland Sutton for a big gain into Falcons territory for 23 yards. The Broncos would enter the fourth quarter in position to add to the score.
