Pat Surtain II, Quinn Meinerz, Marvin Mims, Nik Bonitto, and Zach Allen have all been named to the Associated Press’s first and second All-Pro teams.
The Denver Broncos have enjoyed a pretty successful 2024 season. They have a promising rookie quarterback, one of the best defenses in the league, and finally ended their postseason drought. Now, a total of five Broncos players have been named to the Associated Press’s All-Pro teams.
Cornerback Pat Surtain, guard Quinn Meinerz, and kick returner Marvin Mims Jr. have been named first-team All-Pro’s by the Associated Press while edge rusher Nik Bonitto and defensive lineman Zach Allen received second-team honors.

According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, this is tied for the second most All-Pro honors the Broncos have received in franchise history. The most was six All-Pro’s in 1996 and they had five in 1978. This shows the talent this current roster has and the Broncos coaching staff under Sean Payton needs to be praised for developing this talent.
Cornerback Pat Surtain II has been named to the Pro Bowl team, is a first-team All-Pro, and appears to be the front-runner for Defensive Player of the Year. PS2 was one vote shy of being a unanimous selection for All-Pro which shows how strongly he is viewed around the league.
Surtain has been excellent all season and has shut down multiple number-one receivers when he has had them in coverage. He finished the year with a total of 4 interceptions including a potential season-changing pick-six vs. the Raiders early in the season. He is the best cornerback in the league, arguably the best defensive player in the league, and is now bringing in all the much-deserved accolades this season.
Quinn Meinerz has been the Broncos’ best offensive lineman this season and one of the best all-around linemen in the league according to the AP. He signed a big four-year extension with the team in the offseason and rewarded the team with his best season yet. He is a mauler in the trenches and helps open up running lanes for the Broncos running backs while also keeping defenders off quarterback Bo Nix. The former third-round pick is going to go down as one of the best Broncos offensive linemen in team history.
Marvin Mims Jr. has been an impact player for the Broncos on offense recently, but his impact on special teams as a returner cannot be overlooked. He is a now two-time Pro Bowl kick returner and now has been named a first-team All-Pro kick returner this season. The explosive second-year player has had some game-changing plays as a returner while also having even more game-changing plays as a receiver. If he keeps up this sort of impact moving forward, we could see Mims make this list again not only as a returner but as a receiver as well.
Those three players were the Broncos’ first-team All-Pro but they also had two players named to the second-team All-Pro team.
Edge rusher Nik Bonitto had an impressive breakout year where had a total of 13.5 sacks on the year including two game-changing defensive touchdowns. The Broncos needed someone like Bonitto to step up and he did just that and is a big reason for their top-ranked pass-rushing unit in the league. You could make the case he should have been a first-team All-Pro, but a Pro Bowl nod and a second-team All-Pro is still pretty good.
Zach Allen is the other second-team All-Pro and while the recognition is much-deserved, he really should have been a first-team All-Pro. His impact has been overlooked for the most part all season and his numbers match previous defensive player of the year players from previous seasons. He has turned into the Broncos’ best player not named Pat Surtain II on the Broncos’ defense and is a major part of their top-ranked defense this season. Again, it is nice to see him get this honor but if we are being honest, he deserved first-team honors AND a Pro Bowl nod.
These five All-Pro players and the rest of the Broncos travel to Buffalo this Sunday to take on the Bills in the Wildcard round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs. These players will need to continue their All-Pro level of play if they want to shock the world and upset the Bills on the road and advance to take on the Chiefs in the next round.
