For the first time in a long time.
Now, nearly one week removed from the Super Bowl, it’s becoming clear which teams are moving on from their quarterbacks. With Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford, and others asking for realtor recommendations, it’s a terrific feeling as a Broncos fan to not have to worry about one of them coming to play in Denver.
Broncos Country will not be tracking flights of prospective quarterbacks as they maneuver around the country on private jets as they look for a new team. A huge, franchise-crippling contract won’t be offered to an elderly veteran whose arm fell off years ago. Nor, will the Broncos be grabbing a warm body off the street to throw under center. There will be no quarterbacks sobbing into their helmet in 2025.
In case you have been in hiding since the Joe Flacco signing, the Broncos have been through the wringer with mid to downright awful quarterbacks in the decade since Peyton Manning retired.
After so much tumult and uncertainty, the Denver Broncos are suddenly a paragon of stability. They have a tremendous owner, a smart head coach-capable of counting down the play clock without the aid of the fans, and, of course, Bo Nix.
For the first time in a long time, the Broncos will be looking to build on something, rather than just trying to sleep off the nightmare decisions of previous seasons. It may take a bit of patience to get back to the Broncos playoff-winning ways, but the last decade has shown us that Broncos Country can endure anything.
The future is bright in Denver. Enjoy the shift from enduring football to enjoying it…. Bo Nix-style!
