Good Morning Broncos Country!
Good Morning Broncos Country!
The Athletic’s lead draft analyst Dane Brugler recently released a two-round mock draft that would make Broncos fans very happy. He has the team selecting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty in the first round and LSU tight end Mason Taylor in the second round.
20. Denver Broncos: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Should Jeanty fall this far? Of course not. But if Dallas decides to pass, there aren’t many obvious landing spots for him in the top 18. From the Boise State Broncos to the Denver Broncos, Jeanty would add another level to Sean Payton’s offense and continue to help Bo Nix ascend as one of the league’s bright young quarterbacks.
It is a bit too early to talk about where a prospect may or may not go in the first round since a lot can and will change throughout the draft process. However, Jeanty is expected to go in the first half of the draft by many. If he were to slip to the Broncos pick at 20th overall, they should be getting this pick in immediately.
As we know, the Broncos running game struggled this past season. The trio of Javonte Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin, and Audric Estime never got it going and with Williams set to his free agency, the Broncos will be looking to upgrade this room. Adding a back like Jeanty would do that instantly and give Bo Nix a much-needed run game to lean on.
As for Taylor, he is the son of Hall of Fame pass rusher Jason Taylor and an intriguing tight end prospect in the draft. He has good size and athleticism, and projects as a day-two selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Broncos need help at tight end after they barely had any production from this unit in their passing game. Quarterback Bo Nix had a successful rookie season without much of a tight end threat so getting him that receiving threat at tight end should hopefully help him have an even better 2025 season.
