
The fifth highest rated prospect in this years’ draft class, according to Next Gen Stats, was none other than Jahdae Barron.
As we ponder the thought process of the Denver Broncos when they nabbed Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron with the 20th overall pick, there is some data coming out that could help us understand what their line of thinking was with this decision.
Next Gen Stats dropped this post on X showing they have Barron earning the fifth-highest NGS draft score across all draft prospects. That would make getting him 20th overall as disgustingly good pick.

How this plays out at the NFL level is obviously a wait and see game. However, pairing him with Patrick Surtain II and Riley Moss is a luxury for the Broncos defense. In a tough AFC West with elite quarterback play from almost every team, having lock down defenders in the passing game is a huge advantage in what are normally close, hard fought division games.
