Could a team look to jump the Steelers for a quarterback?
According to ESPN’s lead NFL insider, Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos have fielded calls in recent days from interested teams looking to trade up to their 20th overall selection in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis is also reporting that the Broncos are more likely to trade back than up in the draft.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have the 21st overall selection and are expected to be in the quarterback market. So, quarterback-needy teams like the Browns, Giants, Saints, and whoever else passes on one with their first-round pick could be looking to move up. If that is the case, the Broncos are in the sweet spot, if teams want to jump the quarterback-needy Steelers.
We have had reports in recent days that the Broncos were one of the few teams exploring a potential trade up with running back Ashton Jeanty and tight end Colston Loveland viewed as their targets. A trade-up for Jeanty is highly unlikely, but a small move, Loveland could be in play if he slides some.
Teams are trying to acquire more day two/mid-round selections in this draft, as that is viewed as the strength of the draft. Currently, the Broncos have one pick in each of the first four rounds but could be looking to add a few more picks to help improve their roster.
A running back, a tight end, a wide receiver, and a defensive lineman appear to be in play for the Broncos early in the draft. We’re only hours away from the start of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and we’ll finally see what the Broncos end up doing.
