The Broncos former third round pick will get a fresh start with the New York Giants.
According to NFL Network’s insider Tom Pelissero, the New York Giants have claimed former Denver Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich off waivers. The team waived the former third-round pick on Monday and now will have a fresh start with the Giants.

Dulcich has dealt with injuries throughout his career after having a promising rookie career. He appeared to put those concerns behind him this season and made it through the entire offseason without any injuries. He started the season viewed as a key member of the Broncos offense but that did not simply happen. After a few disappointing weeks that saw him struggle as a blocker, Dulcich has been a healthy scratch every week leading up to the team waiving him. It was a disappointing end to Dulcich’s tenure with the Broncos but we’ll see how he fairs with a fresh start with the imploding New York Giants franchise.
The Broncos waived Dulcich to make room for another former third-round pick, edge rusher Drew Sanders, who they are activating to their active roster. He suffered an Achilles injury early in the offseason but now will look to add some more depth to the Broncos pass rush which ranks as the best in the league right now.
With Dulcich not panning out for the Broncos, the tight end position will be near the top of the Broncos’ offseason needs. Veteran Adam Trautman is a fine in-line player and Nate Adkins excels as a blocker, but the team lacks a true receiving threat at the position. With rookie quarterback Bo Nix looking like the real deal, I would imagine that giving him a true receiving threat at tight end will be a priority for Sean Payton, George Paton, and the rest of the Broncos decision-makers.
For now, though, Greg Dulcich gets a fresh start with the Giants while the Broncos fill his vacant roster spot with Drew Sanders who can be a potential boost to their pass rush moving forward.
