The Denver Broncos have their eyes on a developmental quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.
In the flurry of free agency news, an interesting 2025 NFL Draft related tidbit has dropped. According to Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos will host North Dakota State quarterback Cam Miller for a 30 visit.
The Broncos’ quarterback room currently consists of Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham who are sure-fire bets for the top two spots on the roster. Nevertheless, they will need another player at the position for training camp. Perhaps Miller can be that prospect for the Broncos.
In his five seasons with the Bison, Miller played in 67 games with 56 starts. An efficient and productive player, he threw for 9,720 yards over the course of his career with 81 touchdowns and only 19 interceptions. He also was a threat on the ground, rushing the ball 526 times for 2,277 yards and 48 touchdowns.
Miller is a two-time FCS champion and was a first-team FCS All-American and the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Year for his efforts this past season. He was a snub at this year’s combine, but did participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl festivities and received positive reviews from NFL scouts and personnel in attendance.
While he doesn’t possess top-tier arm strength, he is a savvy quarterback with a lot of experience. His biggest strengths are being proficient at attack zone defenses and hitting his receivers in stride in the quick and intermediate passing game. As mentioned above, he also demonstrates dual threat ability as a runner.
He certainly won’t go in the first round like former Bison quarterbacks Carson Wentz and Trey Lance. However, according to draft analyst Dane Brugler, Miller does have a draftable grade on some team boards across the league. Perhaps he could be a mid-to-late Day 3 addition like Easton Stick, also a former Bison quarterback who was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the fifth round in 2019.
The Broncos currently have three sixth round selections for the upcoming draft. If things go well with his visit at Dove Valley, it wouldn’t necessarily be a surprise if they picked him with one of them.
