A report indicates that veteran WR Deebo Samuel is interested in playing for the Broncos but they’re not expected to make an offer.
According to The Athletic’s Diana Russini, 49ers veteran wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who has requested a trade this offseason, is interested in playing for the Broncos or Texans next season. However, she is reporting neither the Broncos nor Texans are expected to make an offer for the veteran wide receiver.

This confirms a report earlier in the week from Denver Gazette’s Chris Tomasson who said that indications are that the Broncos do not have interest in San Francisco 49ers veteran wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
Any team acquiring Samuel would have to give up draft capital AND take on his $15.8 million dollar cap number next season. That’s not ideal for a player who has dealt with injuries and appears to have lost a step in recent years. So, I am assuming teams are holding out to see if the 49ers will simply release Deebo so they can sign him to a likely cheaper contract and keep the draft capital.
It remains to be seen if the Broncos will be interested in him if he were to hit the free agent market. The current reports are that they are happy with their receiver room, are working on an extension for Courtland Sutton and have faith in Marvin Mims, Devaughn Vele, and Troy Franklin. So, we’ll see if they make any major additions to their receiving room this offseason.
I am not interested at all in trading for Deebo but wouldn’t be upset if they signed him to a reasonable free agent deal. He has been a talented receiver in the past and the Broncos need to surround Bo Nix with as many playmakers as they can. His injury history and decline are a concern so the price tag would matter, but I would not be against it.
