I asked the Mile High Report staff to give me their Hot takes for the Broncos this upcoming season.
For the final question in our Mile High Report staff member roundtable, I asked them to give me their best hot take or prediction for the Broncos this upcoming season. All their answers were very positive and included making the playoffs, having success against the AFC West teams, and a few select Broncos winning some awards this season.
Obviously, these are pre-week one hot takes where the hopeium is at its highest, so they are going to lean in the unrealistic/overly positive side of things, but that’s the point of the question.
Here are the Mile High Reports staff member’s hot takes for the Denver Broncos this upcoming season. I ask you guys to give me your best hot take or prediction for the Broncos as well.
Scotty Payne
The Broncos not only make the playoffs, they win a playoff game. They will be slept on all season and will continue to be during the playoffs but they’ll pull off the upset and advance.
The legend of Bo Nix will grow.
Tim Lynch: This is a playoff team. If the Chiefs are as efficient on offense in the regular season this year as they were last year then the AFC West could be in play. That’s my hot take.
Ian St. Clair: The Broncos are a playoff team and Nix will win OROY. #Bolieve
Adam Malnati: Bo Nix will win OROY and Pat Surtain will win DPOY. It’s an award-season twofer.
Ross Allen: I’ll keep this one specific to the division, but the Broncos will sweep the AFC West this year. I’d the team from last year could beat the similar-looking Chargers and Chiefs, then they can make it happen more so this time around. I think I’m just excited to see the Broncos finally beat the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jeff Essary: Similar to Ross, but I’ll say they almost sweep the division but split with KC.
John Holmes: The Broncos will be a vastly better team than last year, but probably not win more games. Last year they way out-performed their talent, and had relative injury luck. Reversion will cost them games even as the talent level rises.
Taylor Kothe: Rather than something season-long, let’s drill down to a more concentrated period to turn up the heat. Bo Nix leads the Broncos on a tear through one of the roughest parts of their schedule, claiming the AFC Offensive Player of the Month award to cap off an undefeated November with wins against:
- Ravens
- Chiefs
- Falcons
- Raiders
And if that happens, tear up my record prediction from a few questions back. The Broncos return to the playoffs.
