To be clear right from the jump: Garett Bolles is not leaving the Denver Broncos. He is about to get busier, though.
Legend High School in Parker, Colorado, has hired Bolles as the football team’s new Director of Player Development.
“Garett is a tremendous mentor and will ensure Legend provides the proper support for the athletes in our program to succeed on and off the Field,” the school said in a statement on its X/Twitter page.
Before hiring Bolles, the high school previously brought in Jake Heaps as its head football coach last week. Broncos fans might recognize the coach’s name because he also serves as Russell Wilson’s personal quarterbacks coach.
Denver coach Sean Payton famously kicked Heaps out of the team’s facility after he was hired in 2023. Heaps continued to work with Wilson, just not at the Broncos’ official facility. One year after running Heaps out of the building, Payton cut Wilson and then drafted Bo Nix.

Back to Bolles — this is apparently a role that he can handle while still playing in the NFL. Bolles, 32, just signed a four-year contract extension in December and he has said that he hopes to play until he’s 38 or 39. So the left tackle isn’t leaving anytime soon, but his schedule will be busier.
