Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders signed a major NIL deal on Wednesday.
Sanders, arguably the best quarterback in college football right now, signed an NIL deal with Nike. He’s the first college football player in history to sign a deal with the company.
He will have a footwear and apparel deal with Nike and is following in the footsteps of his dad and head coach Deion Sanders, who has Nike cleats.
It’s a deal that still has the entire college football community talking.
“I kind of figured this happened already… maybe the general NIL part… But this makes a lot of sense, I’m glad it’s actually a thing!” one tweet read.
“I want a Shadeur Sanders Buffs jersey for sure,” another tweet read.
“Can’t wait to see him LIGHT IT up this season. Not on either pre-season AP team is nasty work NCAA,” another tweet read.
“Perfect timing,” another tweet read.
Despite Colorado going 4-8 last season, Sanders was one of the best quarterbacks in the country, finishing with 3,230 yards through the air, 27 touchdowns, and three interceptions.
He’ll look to keep playing at that level when Colorado opens the 2024 season against North Dakota State this Thursday. Kickoff will be at 8 p.m. ET.
