CU isn’t done ascending through the ranking
The Colorado Buffaloes haven’t finished ascending through the rankings, hitting their new highest rank in the AP Poll since 2016.
CU clocked in at #16 in the AP media vote after crushing the Utah Utes by a final score of 49-24. Colorado moved up only one spot in the rankings, being ranked at #17 before their game against the Utes.
The Buffs didn’t get much help on Saturday from across the college football world, with the teams ranked immediately ahead of them winning. The only exception to that was previously 16th-ranked Kansas State, who got crushed by the Arizona State Sun Devils.
If Colorado keeps winning, they’ll be easily able to climb into the top 10 and make it to the College Football Playoffs. A win against Kansas at Arrowhead Stadium next weekend and beating Oklahoma State on Black Friday would lock in the Buffs’ spot to play for the Big 12 conference title in Dallas in December.
Colorado controls their own destiny, so they just need to continue to take care of business.
