Deion Sanders has made branding a major part of his overhaul of the Colorado football program over the last two seasons.
One area where branding plays a major role is recruiting. Every school gets creative with the official offer letters it sends high school prospects, but Colorado does it with a touch that is classic Deion. This week, a Colorado offer letter has been going viral on social media, and one look makes it clear why.
The cover of the offer letter features Colorado Buffaloes logos alongside gold Louis Vuitton emblems. Open it up and on the inside is a Deion quote–“I ain’t hard to find”–along with his signature in gold.
There’s more pullout sections featuring vital program statistics and glimpses at Colorado’s history, along with more Louis V logos.
Say what you want about Deion, but he always has known how to get people’s attention.
This week, the second-year coach discussed the rude welcomes the Buffaloes have received on the road this season, something he embraces.
“We like to be booed, naysayed and hated. That turns us on. It turns us on. It’s kind of sexy, matter of fact,” Sanders said. “That’s how I felt when I played. I loved to be on the road and get booed and naysayed and all of that. I think we like being the underdogs. We like being those types of people.
“Not that — we don’t look at the betting line or whatever, underdogs meaning on the road, away from home. We like that, we like that, we really do.”
Now 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in Big 12 play following last week’s win over Arizona, Colorado will look to earn its sixth win and wrap up bowl eligibility this Saturday against Cincinnati.
Kickoff is set for 10:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
