It was mass hysteria at Folsom Field on Saturday night as Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes found a way to beat Baylor in miraculous fashion to open Big 12 play.
The OT thriller included a premature field storming from CU’s fans as referees reviewed the final play of the game — something Sanders made a point to apologize to Dave Aranda for after the win.
“I want to apologize to the opposition,” Coach Prime opened. “The way we stormed the field, I didn’t get the opportunity to shake the head coach’s hand, but I did try to go over to the locker room and wait it out until he came out, but I don’t think they got the word to him because that’s not professional. I wanted to shake his hand and acknowledge.”
“I don’t like what transpired at the end of the game, but I love what transpired at the end of the game. We have a fan base that’s phenomenal,” Sanders continued.
“We have some young kids on this campus that love and breathe CU football. I’m thankful. I walk campus every day and they give us so much love and respect and honor.”
The win improved the Buffs to 3-1 on the season with another big test against UCF next week.
If Colorado can stack another win in three straight weeks, Coach Prime’s team could be on its way to doing something special in Boulder.
