Deion Sanders and the Colorado football coaching staff just added another piece to the 2025 recruiting puzzle.
Christian Hudson, a defensive lineman from Daytona Beach, Florida (Mainland High School), committed to the Buffaloes on Friday. The four-star recruit committed to UCF in July but took a visit to Colorado two weeks ago for the Kansas State game.
Listed at 6-foot-1, 285 pounds, Hudson totaled 70 tackles (27 for a loss) and nine sacks as a junior in 2023.
“A potential spark plug in the middle,” 247Sports’ director of recruiting Andrew Ivins said of Hudson in July. “Under 6-foot-1, but finds ways to win with leverage and effort. Initially was viewed by some colleges as an offensive lineman at the next level, but made it clear he wants to chase quarterbacks after racking up nine sacks as an 11th grader.
“Impressive snap anticipation jolts him forward while active hands allow him to disengage and swipe past would-be blockers. Oftentimes aware of his surroundings and is agile enough to stop and retrace. Also has a knack for getting his hands up in passing lanes despite being on the smaller side. Might lack the ideal measurables, but projects as a win-at-all-cost interior defender that can push pockets.”
Hudson is now the ninth commit of Colorado’s 2025 recruiting class. The Buffs will look to continue their recruiting momentum this weekend with other top targets such as USC commits Julian Lewis and Carde Smith in Boulder for the Cincinnati game.
