Deion Sanders’ son, Shedeur, didn’t do himself any favors on Saturday by leaving the field early and seemingly calling out his offensive line after Colorado’s embarrassing Week 2 loss.
Following some of the negative media attention it received, Deion attempted to clear up the situation regarding his QB’s exit.
“It was a TV timeout,” Sanders explained to reporters. “I never and the doctors don’t want to take the guys out into the locker room while the play is going. So, it’s professional that you wait until a TV timeout to take the guys into the locker room to get them checked out.”
“Some of you guys failed to mention that Chidozie [Nwankwo] was 10 steps in front of Shedeur when they were going in,” Coach Prime added. “Chidozie was 10 steps in front of Shedeur when they were going in to get checked out by the doctors.”
It was a tough night for all involved. The Buffaloes offense struggled to keep Shedeur upright all night and the team was dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
Unfortunately the same things that plagued Deion’s first season in Boulder are rearing their ugly head once again and there’s nothing fans can point to right now that can make them feel better about the direction the program is going in.
There’s a lot to like about some of the things Coach Prime has done in his short time with the Buffs. But there’s just as much that you can point to that needs improvement.
We’ll see if CU can course correct in time for this weekend’s rivalry game vs. Colorado State.
