Things just haven’t gone the Buffaloes’ way through three-and-a-half quarters of Saturday night’s game vs. rival Nebraska.
And just when it looked like Colorado’s offense might be able to get something cooking, a questionable no catch call stripped Deion Sanders‘ team of what little momentum they were building in the second half.
In the third quarter, officials ruled that wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. did not possess the ball with a foot inbounds — much to the surprise of NBC rules expert Terry McAulay.
“It does appear indisputable in this case,” McAulay said leading up to the referees’ decision. Later commenting, “This is just stunning… This is just a clear error in my mind from the Big Ten Command Center.”
Fans went back-and-forth about what the call should’ve been on social media:
“I appreciate that Terry McAulay calls out mistakes when he sees them. Others try to hem and haw. He says what he thinks,” a user said.
“Ball was still moving.. plain, simple and a good call,” another replied.
“Who cares?” a fan asked. “Colorado is getting boat raced.”
“McAulay needs to get his eyes checked,” another person posted. “The call clearly stood because the ball moved from the hands to the chest as the foot lifted from the turf.”
“Officials have been awful,” another user commented.

It’s hard to imagine Colorado putting forth a more disappointing performance than they currently are. There will be a lot to work on in the coming week for Coach Prime and his staff.
