However you may feel about the Colorado Buffaloes as a team, there’s little denying that they have two of the most dynamic playmakers in college football in quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver Travis Hunter.
Sanders and Hunter both proved as much with their performances against NDSU last night. The Buffaloes quarterback threw for 445 yards and four touchdowns – 132 and three respectively of which were reeled in by Hunter in a 31-26 win.
While it may have come against an FCS team in a close win, the fact remains that the two dazzled when the spotlight was on them – again. And for one former NFL general manager, he’s seen enough from Sanders to declare that he could be the starter for America’s Team one year from now.
On Friday’s edition of ESPN’s Get Up, NFL analyst and former New York Jets and Miami Dolphins executive Mike Tannenbaum declared that Sanders looks good enough right now to join the Cowboys in 2025 and replace starting quarterback Dak Prescott if the team parts ways with their Pro Bowl passer.
“There’s a better chance, in my opinion, that Shedeur Sanders could be the quarterback [for the Cowboys] next year than Dak Prescott at this point,” Tannenbaum declared.

Tannenbaum’s fellow analysts were flummoxed by his assertion, pointing out that the likelihood of Dallas even wanting Sanders, let alone getting into position to draft him, are astronomical.
Fans in the comments went so far as to suggest that Tannenbaum needs to be drug-tested.
All of that said, it’s clear that what we saw from Sanders has given a lot of people the confidence to declare that he could be the next big NFL quarterback.
