Colorado notched its first win of the 2024 season on Thursday but it didn’t come easy.
Colorado went up against FCS powerhouse North Dakota State and was involved in a back-and-forth affair before Colorado ultimately won by five, 31-26.
After the win, Nick Wright slammed the Colorado football program and thinks that the team will only be competing for being bowl-eligible this year. He’s not sold on this team.
“I’ll take all the unders you want to sell me on Colorado football this year. This is not football team that will compete for anything more than barely becoming Bowl Eligible, and I’ll take the under on that, too,” Wright tweeted.
Even though Colorado’s defense didn’t play that well, it was the offense that really shined.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver Travis Hunter carried the load for the Buffaloes and couldn’t be stopped. Sanders finished with 445 passing yards and four touchdowns while Hunter compiled seven receptions for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
The Buffaloes will need both players playing at that level again next week if they are to beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
That game will be on Saturday, September 7 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
